Our challenges • Financial challenge • Needed to save c£20m from 2010/11 to 2014/15 medium term financial plan (and beyond) • Already reduced by 70 police officers and 90 police civilian staff • This only achieved c£7m saving – still needed £13m saving • More demanding public requirement and expectation • National requirements for policing • Other partner agencies – reduced budget • New types of criminality – New costs

  3. What did we want from a Strategic Partner? • value for money • deliver good public services • transformational change in service quality • long term relationship – which can adapt to future changes • continued investment and opportunities for staff • values which fit and positive challenge
