  1. Voice Recordings • To allow students to recite learned material and practice individual expression in the target language • To reduce performance anxiety by providing a private experience • To permit the instructor to evaluate each student’s oral production of the target language

  2. Voice recordings with Sound Recorder • Start • Programs • Accessories • Entertainment • Sound Recorder (just like a tape recorder) Students then save their recording and e-mail it as an attachment to the teacher or put it in the teacher’s drop box on the school’s server.

  4. Very Good (19-20pts): Ease of expression is superior and the rhythm is sustained. The response is well-adapted to the question. The vocabulary is varied and appropriate for the question. Grammatical structures are appropriate, varied, and correct. There is a clear expression of ideas. Pronunciation is good. • Good (17-18 pts): Ease of expression and rhythm are good. The response is well-adapted to the question, but the vocabulary is not as varied. Grammatical structures are more English than French, yet it does not pose a barrier to comprehension. Pronunciation is likewise not a deterrent to comprehension. • Sufficient (15-16 pts): There is some ease of expression, yet the rhythm is halting with lots of hesitations. Ideas are not developed. Vocabulary and grammar are limited. There is repetition of the same vocabulary and/or structures. Pronunciation may require close attention. • Needs Improvement (13-14 pts): Response addresses the question, but there is no fluency of expression. There are serious problems with vocabulary, grammar, usage and pronunciation. The rhythm is slow and marked by hesitation. The response requires interpretation. • Extremely weak (0-12 pts): There is evidence the student did not understand the question. Vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation all require interpretation on the part of the listener. There are long periods of silence or English in the response. • Remarks: • Prononciation • Grammaire • Vocabulaire

  10. French Conversation Une mauvaise journée A l’aide des appareils numériques, nous allons présenter des histoires d’une mauvaise journée. Devoirs pour mercredi le 5 décembre : 20 à 25 phrases au présent pour raconter une histoire. N’oubliez pas d’employer le vocabulaire que nous apprenons. En cours mercredi le 5 décembre : vous mettrez ces phrases au passé composé A la fin du cours, vous me rendrez le suivant : Exemple : Marie se lève à 5 heures du matin. Marie s’est levée à 5 heures du matin. Elle prend une douche. Elle a pris une douche. Elle se foule la cheville en sortant de la douche. Elle s’est foulé la cheville en sortant de la douche.

  11. Avant vendredi le 7 décembre, il faut prendre une photo qui représente chaque phrase de l’histoire que vous avez écrite. Vous aurez peut-être besoin d’un ou deux acteurs. • Vendredi en cours : révision de la partie écrite et préparation de la présentation • I. Insérez les photos à PowerPoint : Sauvegardez les photos dans un dossier sur votre ordinateur. Puis, ouvrez PowerPoint. Cliquez sur Insert-Picture-New Photo Album,. • Puis, Cliquez sur Insert Picturesfrom File… et allez chercher le dossier avec vos photos. • Puis, choisissez les photos que vous voulez et cliquez Insert. Vous allez voir que les photos sont dans le nouvel album. • Ensuite, cliquez Create. Ceci va insérer une image par diapositif. • II. Quand vous êtes prêt(e) à parler, cliquez sur Slide Show et Voice over narration pour raconter votre histoire. Parlez clairement pour chaque diapositif. Attendez 3 secondes avant d’avancer au prochain diapositif. On avance en cliquant la flèche. • III. Quand vous aurez fini, vous choisirez Slide Transition – AdvanceSlideAutomaticallyAfter 6 seconds ( ?) et apply to all slides. • N’oubliez pas d’écouter votre présentation avant le cours pour vérifier que nous pouvons vous entendre. • Quelques suggestions : Ne soyez pas trop bizarre. • Ne faites rien de dégoûtant. • Tout acteur/toute actrice doit être habillé(e) ! • Employez le français que nous apprenons. • Amusez-vous bien.

  13. Voice-over narration After students have sequenced the slides, they should select the First Slide in their program. Then, • Go to Slide Show • Record narration • Ok • Current Slide • Record their voice for each slide (Wait 3 secs before advancing to next slide.) • Advance to next slide using the down arrow key. • When they are done, they can play the slide show with the narration.

Inserting several pictures at once on PowerPoint After you have pictures in one file folder, Open PowerPoint, Select Insert-Picture-New Photo Album Insert picture from File/Disk Browse to folder and select all photos Photos will appear under New Album Click Create The program will insert one photo into each slide.
