  1. Energy Efficiency Solutions: Reduce Costs, Improve Infrastructure, Meet Environmental Goals Case Study: Towson University

  2. Energy Performance Contract – PHASE 1 In an effort to improve the lighting infrastructure and lower utility costs, Towson University contracted with Constellation to implement energy efficiency measures, including a substantial lighting retrofit. In total, Towson acquired $1.75 million in energy savings and a million plus in rebates. Money that would be spent on utilities is now being redirected towards academic programs, faculty and staff. Phase 1 was so successful, Towson University began to evaluate a second phase.

  3. Over 28,000lighting fixtures upgraded across the campus!

  4. PHASE 2a – Maryland Clean Energy Center The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) will provide the funding structure to help Towson University avoid impact on debt and use of capital. The MCEC is a not-for-profit entity with the mission to transform the energy economy in Maryland by promoting clean energy, economic development, energy innovation and jobs in the Maryland. MCEC is able to issue tax-exempt debt to complete economically viable projects that might not otherwise be implemented.

  5. PHASE 2a – Energy Conservation Measures & Savings • Towson University is expected to save approximately $700,000 annually! • Domestic Water • Building Envelope • Steam Trap Replacement • HVAC Renovations – Student Union Building • Steam Line & Valve Insulation • PTAC – Glen Towers
