  1. About Vaping

  2. Welcome to the world of “Vaping” The present guide helps you to understand all you need to know regarding electronic cigarettes. Unlike a traditional cigarette, when smoking an electronic cigarette it is said that you are “Vaping”, That is because the device gives off vapour which looks like traditional cigarette smoke. The mechanism involves the use of liquid based of propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin that is vaporized resulting in smoke.

  3. Electronic cigarettes can be found in different shapes and types in the market. When seeking to purchase your first e-cig, it is worth having an understanding of the component parts that make up the e-cig and be able to choose one which will enhance your vaping experience.

  4. What is an electronic cigarette. An electronic cigarette or e-cig is made up a battery that powers an atomiser. Inside the atomizer is a heating coil which vaporises a liquid. Some liquids contain nicotine while others have different flavours. When the liquid is vaporized, it creates smoke simulating smoking.

  5. Why vaping There are many reasons why people vape. Some appreciate the experience and prefer it than a traditional cigarette. Other vape because they like to smoke but are concerned about health, they do not want to take the risks that comes with smoking a traditional cigarette.

  6. Vapingis not without risk, there is a certain level of nicotine in some liquid, but unlike a traditional cigarette, ecigs when inhaled frequently have a lower risk of causing health problems such as lung disease or cancer. That is because beside nicotine, there are no toxin (tobacco) that is inhaled.

  7. How to vape If you are a beginner and have your first ecig, vaping is very easy.  Initially you have to turn on the button on the battery, then draw on the ecig for 3-4 second,  try to have the vapour slowly fall in your mouth instead of sucking strongly. Afterwards, partially take back slowly before exhaling.

  8. Types of Electronic cigarettes There are two main types of ecigs, but many different sizes and shape: disposable clearomiser, replaceable coil clearomiser. • The disposable clearomiser- This type is the most popular. It has a battery and a disposable clearomiser which contains the e-liquid and a heating coil which turns the liquid into vapour. Normally they can be used for about three weeks after which have to be replaced because the heating coil will began to burn and produce poor amounts of vapour and leave a bad taste in the mouth

  9. The clearomiser is filled with liquid through a “drip tip”. The majority will contain about 1.6ml.  The first time you fill the clearomiser, it is necessary to let it stand for a few minute to enable the wick to draw liquid into the heating coil.  If you fire up the ecig before it has been drawn to the coil,  it may result to a clearomiser failure or a burnt taste.

  10. Replaceable coil clearomisers – The replaceable coil clearomiser can be used for three or four weeks. When the coil began to fade, you do not have to buy a new clearomiser, but just replace the heating coil.

  11. You can chance the coil by initially making certain that there is no liquid inside the clearomiser, then unscrew the “drip tip”, unscrew the vessel from the base of the clearomiser and dry it with a soft paper or towel, unscrew the top heating coil and screw in a replacement.

  12. Coil resistance The resistance of the coil is determined by a number graded by “ohms”. The lower the number, less resistance there is to the energy of the battery, and more of the energy battery can be used. For example,  a 1.8ohm heating coil uses more of the battery energy than a 2.4ohm heating coil. The chart below can serve as a guide.

  13. It means that the 1.8ohm produces more vapour and throat hit than a 2.4 ohm. Nevertheless, if you combine with different voltage device, you may want to choose a higher number coil such as 2.4ohm which will give you the opportunity to experiment with different voltages without burning up your coil. A standard battery outputs is about 3.3volts which normally is enough for the majority.  A variable voltage battery makes it possible to increase or decrease the voltage.

  14. Components of an electronic cigarette. If you are going to start vaping best began with a starter kit. All electronic cigarettes have basic components which includes: the cartridge, the atomizer, the cartomizer, and the power source. • The cartridge – It is the end piece which is placed in the mouth to inhale. They can be found in different versions bespoke for individual types of cigarettes but their function are similar. It includes a small plastic cup inside that holds the nicotine. When the liquid is exhausted it can be either refilled or replaced with another cartridge

  15. The atomizer – It is often located in the mid section of the electronic cigarette and is the part that makes the vapour. It consist of heating elements which can be made of metal, ceramic or nickel. • The battery – The majority of electronic cigarettes have a lithium ion rechargeable battery. The lifespan of the battery depends on the type, the size and frequency of use. Baterries can often be found in three sizes;

  16. 350MAH, 650MAH, or 900MAH. A 650 MAH batteries is often best to start with for beginners. Batteries can be recharged either with a USB cord, a portable charger, or a wall adapter • E-liquid – electronic cigarettes use a solution known as e-liquid or e-juice which can be obtained in different flavours. Some solutions contain nicotine others do not, and depend on personal taste.

  17. There are different nicotine strength that can be chosen 18mg (1.8%), 11mg (1.1%), 6mg(0.6%) or 0mg (0%). They can all be found in 10ml bottles.  Which strength you choose depends. As a beginner, you might want to try different strength to find out which one you must appreciate.

  18. Many prefer E-cig than ordinary cigarettes, they are less of a health hazard and do not cause any second-hand smoking because the emit simple water vapours. Beginners can use a starter pack while more advance smoker may seek better experience depending on the size of battery which provide stronger vapes or taste.

  19. Legal information: There are no legal restrictions currently in place in the UK with the use of electronic cigarettes. The Health Act 2006 places restriction on tabacco smoking in the work place. It also bans persons from smoking in public or certain premises. The Health Act does not affect the use of electronic cigarettes. The use of an electronic cigarette is not noted as 'smoking', but as 'Vaping'. Legally, you can use an electronic cigarette, but it will often depend to the each premises, work place, or public place notifications to do so.
