  4. Develop a common vision of mobility and beyond • A decisive moment structuring the vision for Lille SUMP: • brown field redevelopment • new high speed train interchange and creation of Euralille • Surface transport to restructure, redesign and redistribute public space

  5. Citizens and stakeholder involvement • Involvement of citizens and stakeholders in the vision building exercise with interactive tools: • thematic working groups for stakeholders and local authorities • Mobility forum • SUMP Tuesdays

What’s in the plan ?Example of Lille PDU • 170 actions, 6 main themes: • An ‘intensive’ city and mobility • A network of public transport • Sharing the street, alternatives modes • Freight transport • Environment, health and the safety of citizens • Realisation, monitoring and evaluation • External reviewing of the document

Preparing the 2nd PDU • 2005: evaluation of PDU • 2006: start of revision • General mobility survey and thematic working group 2006-2010 • One day debate on mobility in April 2009 • Foresees cooperation with stakeholders during the implementation of the actions • 3 groups of stakeholders identified: • Local institutionnal and associative partners; general public, and institutionnal stakeholders outside the territory

Preparing the 2nd PDU • Objectives for sharing the SUMP values within and beyond the metropolitan area • Coordination of the actions of the local authority and the local institutions • Raise awareness and coordinate activities in the promotion of sustainable mobility • Promote mobility related reflection and action at a wider scale
