  2. Objectives • To design and build an apparatus to test the hip and knee joints of children, ages 6 to 15, using an Isometric (static) test. • Major sub-systems: • Frame • Transducer and Mounting System • Chair • Data Acquisition

  3. Frame • 31” tall x 6 x 3 x 3/16” • Alcobra, Spokane, WA • Stability • Attached by high “L” brackets • Gussets • Transducer Mount: • Transducer is 26” off ground • Bullet-Nose Indicators • Toggle Clamps • MSC Direct • ~30 lbs total

  4. Chair • Adjustable up/down for any leg length • 10” lift mechanism w/ swivel • 5” lift, no swivel • Ratchet System • Hand Rails and Back Rest • Stability Ratchet system for rails and seat lift

  5. Flange with mounting system Location 1: Frame Location 2: Under the chair – Abd/Adduction Attachment arm and Padding Location 3: Baseplate – Knee Rotation Transducer and Mounting system

  6. Transport / Setup • Transport • Wheels for transportation • Handles on frames • Setup • Rubber pads on the bottom of the base plates for “latch” stability OR • Rails on frame baseplate to allow movement from chair baseplate

  7. Data Acquisition • DataQ with Excel conversion program • Excel input compatibility • User-friendly • Meeting with Dr. Browder for details
