  3. TODAY WE ADD: • Unselfishness • Courage • Knowledge

  4. UNSELFISHNESS • Looking out for others before looking out for yourself • Not being most concerned with yourself and your needs

  5. EXAMPLES OF UNSELFISHNESS • Making sure your cadets get water and food before you do • Giving someone else the “last” of something • Sharing what you have with others

  6. COURAGE • Facing danger or uncomfortable situations with self-confidence; not allowing your fears to overpower you • This does not mean you cannot be afraid; it just means you do not let your fear control you

  7. Examples of Courage • The obvious: saving the baby from the burning building • The not-so-obvious: • saying no to someone when they ask you to do something wrong • Stopping someone who is breaking the law or about to break the law • Protecting the underdog

  8. KNOWLEDGE • Having information about the world around you and subjects of importance • Being aware of things with which you should be familiar

  9. Leaders with knowledge… • Are highly competent at their jobs • Know all the basic Cadet Corps information for the rank they hold • Breed confidence from others because they know so much information
