  5. All the books? • No. The policy includes original scholarly research • written by, and aimed at, those who are actively • engaged with or interested in academic research, • rather than a general readership.

  6. How will the extension work? • When? 1 October 2013 - October 2014. • Who? All current grant-holders. • How? Through PubMed Central and Europe PMC within six months of publication.

  7. Uncharted territory: One size fits all? • Small print runs • + • High title price= • Lack of access to research published in • monograph or book chapter form

  8. Uncharted territory: Price-gouging • We monitor monograph-processing charges • and the market • + • More publishers introduce an OA option = • In time a benchmark of prices will arise • and we will be aware of outliers.
