  7. Parent Engagement Goals: Create a partnership that supports student success Build and support effective and meaningful engagement of parents

  8. GATE Update • Use daily differentiation to enhance engagement based on students' learning needs, preferences, interests, and knowledge • Provide for depth of knowledge, acceleration, novelty and interest as well as variation in the product • Create brain-friendly classrooms that offer optimal learning environments • Utilize technology and programs such as Study Island that are adaptive and individualized • Continuously build our repertoire of research-based, high-impact instructional strategies to engage all learners at their own instructional level through varied and continual Professional Development • Promote and support academic clubs, activities and competitions such as Math Club, Chess Club, Spelling Bee and Robotics • Focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities in our classrooms • Actively seek creative, dynamic and challenging opportunities for student growth in their areas of strength (including visual arts, leadership, performing arts, math and language) • Research, train and develop teacher expertise in creating Individual Learning Plans for students

  9. GATE: What’s Next Parental Engagement: Teaming up with the teachers. Following Parent/Teacher conferences watch for opportunities to participate on a GATE task force. We have some exciting ideas to present and develop for implementation.

  15. Monster Movie Madness October 13th – 16th are minimum days. Students will be released at 11:45 each day. We’ll be offering an after school movie day each of these days. The cost is $10 per child or $20 per family (TVCS students) per day and includes 3 hours of care (11:45-2:45), lunch, a movie in the MPR, craft, popcorn & a treat. Register with Julie in Room 3 by Friday, October 9th

  16. Enrichment Classes Skate Board Deck DesignGrades 6-8 Sand, Prime and Design your own skateboard deck! Meets on Mondays Oct 19 & 26 and Nov 2, 9 & 16 2:50 pm - 4:00 pm Class is $50 Green Screen Meets Art! Grades 3-8 Create a multi-media artwork and, using “green screen” technology, insert yourself into your own artwork! Wednesdays from 1:50-3:00 Oct. 21 & 28 and Nov. 4 & 18 $50.00 for 4 sessions – materials included Supersmart Science Grades TK-8 Are you ready to get slimed? Over the next four weeks learn why some of the best science can get a little messy!We will explore polymers, phosphorescence, chemical reactions and the scientific method while using fun science tools and skills to explore and explain what makes slime ooey, gooey and stinky. 4 week science class cost is $50.00 and includes materials. Class Dates: 10/21, 10/28, 11/04, & 11/18

  17. Holiday Extravaganza TVCS Bazaar & Craft Fair Nov. 7th 9:00 am - 2:00 pm There is still time to sign up if you’d like to sell crafts, products or showcase your family business! Booths are just $15 for TVCS families and you keep all the earnings from your booth! We currently have 25 booths including: Molli B Boutique *Young Living Essential Oils *3 Little Birds Day Spa * Wildtree Pink Zebra * American Emergency Restoration * Murrieta Art Center * Scentsy * Get Palms Michael Kaake Construction * Origami Owl * Jamberry * Grace Adele * Unitus Health Insurance and many, many booths selling crafts, jewelry, tutus, bows, jams, and more! Reserve a booth or come to shop!!!

  24. Scholastic Book Fair • Open before school, lunch and after school. • We will send flyers home this month showing some of the highlighted books that will be at the fair. • Along with our fair, we will have an online fair as well for anyone who would like to order that way.

Scholastic Book Fair • We're having a special teacher's preview this year, so there should be lots of Classroom Wishlist Forms filled out. • We will need volunteers to help with set up on Wednesday, October 28th, and tear down November 6th and also to work the cash registers during our Bookfair.
