  2. Guidance for Needs Assessment and Improvement Plan • A document based on Title I guidance • To help you write your Improvement Plan • For future reference as Improvement Plans are revised or re-written

  3. Title III Needs Assessment and Improvement Plan • For 2-year and 3-year LEAs in improvement • New for 2-year LEAs • Revision for 3-year LEAs • First-year LEAs should create rough draft in preparation of 2007 AMAOs.

  4. Title III monitoring timeline • ESL/Title III consultants receive school year schedule from Dr. Belinda Black at DPI. • Fran, Joanne, and Alesha decide who will do what visits. • LEP Coordinators on Monitoring Team are added to schedule.

  5. Title III monitoring timeline Later on… • Title I Lead Consultant sends master schedule to ESL/Title III consultants (usually a four-day schedule). • Title III typically monitors on the first two days of the visit. • Evidence review and central office interviews typically happen on the first day. • School visits, observations, and teacher interviews typically happen on the second day.

  6. Title III monitoring What happens after the visit: • ESL/Title III Consultant submits Monitoring Report to Lead Title I Consultant • Lead Title I Consultant compiles complete report and submits it to the LEA • LEA sends its response to the Lead Title I Consultant
