  4. International • Review of ARC international strategy • Increased international engagement • Increasing visibility of ARC support for international collaboration • International News Feed featured on ARC website

  5. Open Access • ARC Open Access Policy took effect on 1 January 2013 • Publications arising from ARC-funded research must be deposited into an open access institutional repository within a 12 months of the date of publication

  6. Data Management • The ARC is considering options for ensuring that access to data generated through ARC funded research is as freely and widely available as possible • Options include future requirements for data management plans in applications for ARC funding

  7. Conflict of Interest • The ARC has undertaken a review of its conflict of interest and confidentiality guidelines • The ARC aims to provide overarching and consistent requirements across all areas of ARC business

  8. Research Integrity Australian Research Integrity Committee (ARIC) • ARIC Activity • ARC and the NHMRC • Reappointment process • Revising ‘the code’

  9. Research Workforce Policy • The ARC is conducting an ongoing consultation which will investigate key concerns such as: • Gender and career / life balance • Indigenous research • Career stage support • International researchers

  10. Streamlining Grants • The ARC is considering options for reducing the administrative burden on ARC applicants, research offices, assessors and the ARC • Consultation with the ARC College of Experts and discussion with NHMRC will inform the ARC’s direction in streamlining its processes
