  2. This is a brief description of Who’s Who It tells you • what Who’s Who is • how it can help you • how to look for information in it The presentation will take about 4 minutes

  3. Who’s Who is “the essential directory of the noteworthy and influential in all walks of life, in the UK and worldwide…” It contains over 33,000 short biographies of living individuals. Approximately 1,000 new entries are added every year. The online edition also gives you access to Who Was Who – this has over 100,000 entries from the Who’s Who archives.

  4. Use the Search box at the top-right to search for a person. jeremy clarkson

  5. From the biography, you can see a list of people who share his birthday… …or a list of his contemporaries in the world of film, broadcasting and publishing.

  6. oldham You can also search for people with a connection to a particular place.

  7. This will show people who worked in Oldham,… …people who were educated in Oldham,… …people who live in Oldham,… …and even people whose recreations involve Oldham in some way.

  8. Practice Now you have had a brief introduction, why not explore for yourself? Have a go at finding the answers to these questions. • How many people in Who’s Who were educated in Rochester? • How many members of the Beatles are listed? • How many people worked for the BBC? • What did Jeremy Clarkson’s family company sell?
