  2. Office Hours • Medisoft includes a scheduling program called Office Hours that is used to enter patient appointments

  4. Entering a New Appointment • To enter a new appointment, double-click in the desired time slot. The time slots listed correspond to the date selected on the calendar

  5. Entering a New Appointment • After clicking in a time slot, the New Appointment Entry dialog box is displayed

  6. Entering a New Appointment • The New Appointment Entry dialog box contains information about the patient and the appointment

  7. Searching for an Open Time Sloton a Specific Future Date • Some patients require follow-up appointments in a specified time frame after their present appointment • The Go to Date feature searches for an open time slot in any number of days, weeks, months, or years from the current date

  8. Searching for the Next Available Open Time Slot • The Find Open Time feature searches for the next available appointment, with filters for length of appointment, and acceptable hours and days of the week

  9. Entering Appointmentsfor New Patients • Appointments can be created in Office Hours even though a patient may not yet be entered in Medisoft • To book an appointment for a new patient, double-click in a time slot, and key the patient’s last and first name in the Name box

  10. Booking Repeated Appointments • Some patients may need to see the physician for a series of appointments, such as once a week for six weeks • This is easily accomplished using the Repeat Change button in the lower-left corner of the New Appointment Entry dialog box

  11. Booking Repeated Appointments • The Repeat Change features makes it easy to schedule repeated appointments in a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis

  12. Changing or Deleting Appointments • Appointments are rescheduled or cancelled by clicking in the time slot of the current appointment and clicking the right-hand mouse button. A pop-up menu appears, with options to Cut, Copy, or Delete the appointment.

  13. Creating Breaks • Physicians are sometimes unavailable for patient appointments, for a number of reasons, including hospital rounds, meetings, seminars, etc. • The Office Hours break feature is used to enter unavailable time slots in the physician’s schedule, so that an appointment is not booked for that time slot

  14. Creating Breaks • When the Break Entry shortcut button is clicked, the New Break Entry dialog box appears

  15. Creating Breaks • The different types of breaks appear on the Resource drop-down list. Custom breaks can be added by a practice.

  16. Printing Schedules • Physician schedules are printed by selecting Appointment List on the Office Hours’ Reports menu.
