  3. President • The United States presidential election of 1964 was held on November 3, 1964. Incumbent PresidentLyndon B. Johnson had come to office less than a year earlier following the assassination of his predecessor, John F. Kennedy. Johnson, who had successfully associated himself with Kennedy's popularity, won 61.1% of the popular vote, the highest won by a candidate since 1820.

Sports figure Floyd, Little • Football player • running back • 1964 all American football player • A three-time All-American running back and legend of the celebrated number 44 jersey, Little holds the Orange record for career touchdowns (46) and career punts returned for at touchdown (5). Little was named the 1966 ECAC Player of the Year.  As a member of the Denver Broncos, he was selected for five Pro Bowls.  In 1983, he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
