  2. Create a New Project • Open Adobe Premiere CS5.5 • Click New Project • Click the Browse button and navigate the drive and folder where your data files are located • Click OK • Type the filename in the Name Text box of the New Project Dialog • Click OK • Accept the default settings, Click OK

  3. Importing Assets • Open your prproj file • Click the Media Browser panel tab(displays the drives on your computer -hard drive(s), network drives and thumb drives) • Navigate to the drive and folders where your date files are located. • Select audio or video file • Click File on the Application bar, then click • Import from Media Browser • Save Your Project File

  4. Work with Bins • Click the New Bin button on the Project Panel to create a new bin. • Click Bin01, then type a descriptive name to rename the bin. • Double click the bin to open the bin(to open a bin on the Project Panel Ctrl +double click) • Close box • Save your project file

  5. Import Assets with the Import Command • Ctrl + Double click to open the Bin within the Project Panel • Click File on the Application bar, click Import, then navigate to the drive and folder where your data files are located. • Select the range of files located in the data files folder for the project then click Open. • Click the Parent bin button to close the bin. • Save your project file.

Create a Storyboard • Double-click the Scenic Pictures bin to open it. • Click the Icon View Button on the Scenic Pictures Bin. • Click the Pictures bin option button, point to Thumbnails, then click Medium • Click the 1st image, drag the image, then release the mouse button. • Continue dragging images until you have the desired results for the order of the images. • Close the Bin • Save your project file.

  7. Add clips to a sequence by Dragging • Verify that the CTI is at the beginning of the sequence, Current Time Display should show all zeros. • Click the Project Panel tab to activate the Project Panel • Double-click the bin • Drag the clips to the video 1 track on the Timeline Panel. When you drag a clip to add it to a sequence, you target the track by dropping the clip into the track. • Save your project

  8. Use the Automate to Sequence Command • Make sure the CTI is at the point you want to enter the sequence. • Click the Project Panel tab to activate the Project Panel • Open the Picture Bin • Select all of the images in the Bin • Click the Panel Options Button, then click Automate to Sequence. • Click the Ordering List Arrow, click Sort Order • Close the bin • Save the Project.

  9. Tip – Selecting Files • To select more than one contiguous file, press and hold {shift} as you click the first and last filenames.

  10. Tip – Make Clip Edges Align • Make sure that the Snap Button is active on the Timeline Panel.

  12. Tips – Workspace Problems • Timeline disappeared? • Can’t Find Effect Controls? • Accidentally Pressed some X’s • To reset your workspace • Window • Workplace • Reset Current Workspace

  13. Tips – Time Code • Time Code • Hours Frames • 00;00;00;00 • Minutes Seconds

  14. Tips – More Tracks • You start with: • Three video tracks • Three audio tracks • Master track • To add tracks: • Go to Sequence • Add Tracks • Then, pick how many of each you would like
