  1. Hannah From the Bible By: Peyton Dolan

  2. Hannah • Hannah is found in the Old Testament in the book of Samuel. • Her family included Elkanah, her husband, and Samuel, her son. • She was a very religious and prayed to God every day.

  3. Hannah's Strength • Hannah’s husband, Elkanah, had two wives. His other wife Peninnah was able to have children. Hannah really wanted a child but was unable to have one. Every day Peninnah and other people would tease her because she did not have children. She prayed to God and stayed strong even when she was being teased.

  4. Hannah’s Prayer • When Hannah was being teased, she prayed, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the LORD. For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the LORD.” -1Samuel 1:26-28

  5. God and Hannah • Hannah hoped God would answer her prayers and let her have a child. She prayed everyday, but one day she got an answer: the Lord said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel will grant your petition which you have asked of him.”

  6. Hannah’s Miracle • Hannah’s life changed when God answered her prayers and gave her a child. She would sacrifice her time to pray to God for a child. When she found out she was having a child and that God had answered her prayers she was very happy. When the baby was born she named her son Samuel and he was her only child.
