Deliverable 1Structured Summaries • Agreed to use a broad definition of what services are considered to be the responsibility of the health sector • Priorities and focus of summaries to be based on what is important rather than on where there are data • Edgardo to discuss collaboration with CPCB group and WHO RBH Library • Juan to discuss collaboration with CNG and consider prioritizing Cochrane neonatal reviews

Deliverable 1Structured Summaries • Andy, Sarah and Claire to revise format of summaries based on input from discussion following user testing • Signe and Simon to revise relevance section of the lay health worker review as an example of an alternative way of doing that for user testing • Target audience = policy makers, policy advisors and managers. We will use John’s suggestions (circulated) for identifying and categorizing people for user testing. • User testing to be completed and format agreed upon by the end of January • Number of summaries prepared in year 2 to be determined (at the end of January?) • Shaun and Sebastian to develop specifications for web-based database

Deliverable 2Policymaker Tools • Mozambique team to coordinate further development of tool based on the outline that was discussed • Andy to follow-up on possibilities for shifting resources to support this work through a writing workshop, protected or paid time for someone to work on this • Goal is to have a complete first draft of the policymaker tools by the end of year 2.

Partners’ meeting • Shaun to explore potential for reallocating resources • Each team to submit a brief summary of planned contributions to deliverables for year 2 and planned use of budget in relationship to those activities (by 10 December?) • Each partner to consider potential contributions and needs for additional resources in relationship to two priorities: preparing summaries and development of policy maker tools (by 10 December?) • Edgardo, Jimmy, Shaun and Andy to discuss and decide on reallocation of resources for year 2 based on what is possible and input from all partners (13 or 14 December?)

Deliverable 3Trial Management Tool • Drafts by January to be circulated • Preliminary version by month 18 • Full first draft by the end of year 2 • Aberdeen team to coordinate further development and collection of examples with aim of ensuring wide spectrum of examples and comprehensive coverage of key issues for pragmatic trials in LMIC

  7. Deliverable 4 & 5Review of funding proposals & tools for helping to secure funding • Review of proposals – Rodrigo - June • Letters to other funders – by June? • Outline of TFT – end of January • Work plan – end of January (coordination by Godfrey + Fernando) • Draft of tool – next meeting

Deliverable 6Policymaker Workshops • Policymaker workshops • Taryn to put material from Cape Town workshop on the share net • John & Andy to revise material (fewer/shorter presentations, more small group work, tips/checklist for preparing and conducting a workshop, including training the trainers) • Edgardo to translate updated material • Workshops next year: Bogota @ next SUPPORT meeting, Argentina, Mozambique, possibly in SA, Asia? (suggestions requests for additional resources to regional coordinator + Shaun by December 10)

Deliverable 7Systematic review and trial management workshops • John, Shaun, Fernando, Edgardo to explore adapting Scottish trial management workshop materials (+ check LSHTM materials) – materials available by December • Taryn to send Shaun SACC SR training materials to put on share net • SA to explore opportunities for offering (possibly a regional) trial management workshop • Argentina to explore enhancing or expanding courses for SRs and trial management • Suggestions (requests for support) for workshops (or stipends) to regional coordinator & Shaun by 10 December

  10. Deliverable 8Web-based resources • Shaun and Andy to review minutes of Cape Town meeting and update web pages • Shaun to ask Susan to contact partners monthly for updates • Reconsider more active dissemination and modifications (e.g. greater emphasis to News) in 6 months and again at Bogota meeting
