MAME YE Network – Constitution Conference • The Constitution Conference took place during the II Economic Forum for the Mediterranean organized by Confindustria • It was attended by: • 10 Young Entrepreneurs Associations from: Albania, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Senegal, Spain, South Africa, Tunisia • 2 Young Entrepreneurs from: Cameroon and Kuwait • 4 Commercial delegations from the Embassies of: Angola, Israel, Lesotho, Mozambique • 28 Young Entrepreneurs Associations were not able to participate but sent a letter of interest • More than 50 Italian YE

Network’s Objectives Objectives Description Developing and strengthening the collaboration with the Associations of Young Entrepreneurs in the target countries through the sharing of organizational models, best practices and operational tools already used to support the YE in some Member States Promoting, through the Network’s activities, the development of entrepreneurship among young people in each of the targeted countries and opportunities for collaboration between the various actors involved Definition and presentation of specific strategies to support youth entrepreneurship, with the cooperation of national governments, local authorities and institutions of interest

Network’s Structure • All the participants decided that at the moment the Network needs a flexible structure for its start-up, which may develop over time • The Network’s representatives will be elected within a year once the Network will be more structured • The Network will be formed by M.A.M.E. coordination and Working Groups • It is important to underline that the aim of the Network is a “Net” and not an Association • Coordination office: Rome - GI Confindustria

Membership Criteria • During the conference it was decided that the Network’s membership should be formed by Associations of Young Entrepreneurs rather than by single entrepreneurs • An association of Young Entrepreneurs can only join the Network if it resides in one of the target areas • There will be more than one type of membership • The Criteria of memberships should be defined

Memorandum of Understanding • The following associations of Young Entrepreneurs signed the Memorandum of Understanding: • Albanian Young Entrepreneurs • Egyptian Junior Business Association • Centre de Jeunes Dirigeants D’Entreprise (CJD Morocco) • Reseau National des Clubs de Jeunes Entrepreneurs du Senegal • CEAJE – Confederation of Spain Young Entrepreneurs • JCI – South Africa • ESYNE – Hellenic Federation of Young Entrepreneurs Associations • Giovani Imprenditori Confindustria (Italy) • Young Entrepreneurs – Kuwait • Lebanese International Business Association • Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants D’Entreprise (CJD Tunisia)

Work streams – A preliminary list for discussion 1 – Collaboration amongst associations 1 – Collaboration amongst associations 2 – Promotion of entrepreneurship 3 – New strategy implementation Objectives Objectives Work streams • Comparative analysis of organizational models developed by Member Associations and diffusion of best practices • Comparative analysis of operational tools adopted by the Member Associations to drive their associates and diffusion of best practices • Communication (web portal, newsletter, etc..) and sharing of best practices • Discussion on topical subjects relevant to YE • Identification of projects/strategies of relevance to the MAME YE Network and its Member Associations • Implementation of actions to facilitate such projects (including discussions with local governments/institutions and fund raising)

From work streams toWorking Groups • Objective: According to MAME priorities, the following Working Groups have been defined: • Enlargement of MAME towards new associations • Overall promotion of the Network in all target areas • Definition of membership criteria/ procedure • MAME Internal Communication • Promotion of the interaction among the individual members of partner associations • Creation of a web tool for the management of the connections and the contents • Sharing of Organizational and Operative aspects • Analysis and sharing of internal models of each partner association • Supporting younger associations with tailored capacity building programs • The working group will start after Cairo, once the number of partner associations is higher.

From work streams toWorking Groups • Participation to the Working Groups: • The Working Group are open to all partner associations willing to contribute in the specific subject • Interested association just have to send to MAME coordinator an Expression of Interest • Association that inscribed in Alicante: • Working Group 1: JCI South Africa, GI Confindustria Italy, Clubs de Jeunes Entrepreneurs (Senegal), Youth Business (Cameroon) • Working Group 2: Egyptian Junior Business Association (Egypt), GI Confindustria (Italy), Clubs de Jeunes Entrepreneurs (Senegal), Tugiad (Turkey) • Head of the Working Groups: • Interested partner associations could candidate for the position of head of one of the defined Working Group by sending to MAME coordinator: • Name and position of the Candidate • Plan of activities to be carried out in 2010 • Each association could coordinate maximum one Working Group

G20 Young Business SummitJune 20-23, 2010 – Toronto, Canada • After the success of the G8 Young Business Summit of Stresa (2009), another Young Business Summit is scheduled during the G20 in Canada • A three day summit named “Entrepreneurs = Recovery = Jobs” will be held in Toronto. In fact, “Fostering and encouraging YE is fundamental to a nation’s economic development, job creation and competitveness, irrespective of a nation’s stage of development” • MAME YE Network and its objectives will be presented during this Summit
