  1. Concluding RemarksEd Simons, President of euroCRIS Members meeting, Bonn, 14 May 2013

  2. Looking back to the Members Meeting • In Germany some intereseting developments are taking off concerning the definition of research information metadata elements and schema’s as well as the implementation of CRIS systems and the interoperability between systems (e.g. between universities and DFG). • The euroCRIS community, and especially its TG groups, provide a good platform for the German research information community to share and confront their views and developments on an international level and as such to contribute to as well as learn from developments/solutions in other countries • There exist a lot of different classification metadata schemas or vocabularies, implying the need for mapping in order to create a “complete” solution (i.e. in order to find the complete information for a given subject, researcher, research group).

  3. Looking back to the Members Meeting • Metadata, even in reknowned resources, can be corrupt and need cleaning. This is a basic issue when it comes to bibliometrics analysis. We need complete, correct and unambiguous (raw) metadata. • The CERIF model provides a complete solution for research information metaddata, including the mapping of vocabularies. • The creation of an optimal CRIS-solution requires a combination of a business oriented and a technical viewand a governance structure in place to assure professional continuity of the products developed (model,s classifications, authortity files). • Exiting CRIS or CRIS-linked developments are going on within the euroCRIS Community, as witnessed by the presentations in the Jostein Hauge session, and CERIF is more and more a key element within these developments.

  4. Looking back to the Members Meeting Thank you very much for your presence and contributions Have a safe travel home See you in Porto in November Keep on spreading the words.... euroCRIS and CERIF
