  2. What is Financial Aid? Financial aid is money supplied by some source outside of your family to help pay for the cost of education beyond high school. Applying for financial aid is easy, it just requires time and effort on your part.

  3. Federal • Pell Grants (FAFSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid • Must apply every year • Need based but allows you to apply for loans • $5,550 aid for full time students, $2,775 part time • Use the correct FAFSA, current 12-13 school yr • Use FAFSA on the WEB or mail paper FAFSA

  4. State • Colorado Opportunity Fund - COF • There are no income qualifications • You must be eligible for in-state tuition and attending a participating state school as an undergraduate student • You can apply for your stipend on-line • You only have to apply once and will receive stipend every term that you take eligible courses and have not met 145 credit lifetime limit

  5. Institutional • Academic Scholarships • Departmental Scholarships • Competition Grants • Special-Ability Grants

  6. Info for: FRCC Students • Book Store Accounts open August 13 • Funds are scheduled to be disbursed September 5th • First time borrowers September 19th

  7. Let the pieces come together… Financial Aid Puzzle • Award letter takes approx. 1-2 weeks after submission • Time: Priority deadline is March first • No paper award letter all information on e-wolf accounts
