  1. English Vocabulary Project By: Asjea Troutman and Lauren Javorek

  2. Melancholy • Sad; depressed, gloomy state of mind. This girl is melancholy because she is crying.

  3. Odious • Deserving or causing hatred. These two girls are odious because they are arguing with each other.

  4. Premeditative • To meditate, consider, or plan beforehand. I had to be premeditative to decide what I was having for breakfast the next morning.

  5. Query • A question. This is a query because it is a question.

  6. Ravenous • Extremely hungry, famished. This dog is ravenous because she is begging for food.

  7. Reprove • To prove again. One girl wants to drink milk, but the other girl says it is spoiled. The first girl doesn’t listen and drank the milk anyway and said that it was gross. The second girl had to then reprove herself.

  8. Sanction • Authoritative permission or approval. I had to get sanction from my mom to be able to stay after school to study.

  9. Sublime • Elevated or lofty in thought. This girl is very sublime in thought.

  10. Truant • A student who stays away from school. This girl is truant without permission.

  11. Vulnerable • Capable or susceptible to being hurt. This girl is very vulnerable for entering a construction zone.
