  9. Exchange Programs • Ewha and Sookmyung Women’s Universities, Seoul, South Korea Summer school opportunities for both men and women to study Korea more in depth. Courses are offered in a variety of categories (history, art, literature, economics, medicine, etc.). Cornell-approved students do not pay tuition for either program, but are responsible for airfare, visa, and (in some cases) accommodation costs. • Exchange Program in Northern Ireland Students may apply for a semester or year-long exchange with one of these Northern Irish Universities through the Irish-American Scholars Program. Students may take classes in business, marketing, computing, education, performing arts, communication and Irish studies. • Queens University Belfast • University of Ulster • Belfast Metropolitan College • StranmillisUniversity College • St. Mary’s University College Deadline for applications for Cornell affiliated programs is December 2nd, 2014.

Non-affiliated Programs With the approval of an academic and financial advisor, students may study at a program of their choosing. • Summer Italian cooking courses in Tuscany (in Italian) • Russian language study in Siberia • Genocide recovery and peace-building in Rwanda • Forestry in the Amazon

Scholarships • Location/program-specific scholarships & grants • Federal & State money • Cornell need-based aid (for Cornell-affiliated programs only) • Levy Fund (Cornell courses) • Class of ’55 Study Abroad Fund (any program) • Bob Black Award (Wilderness Field Station) Deadline for Cornell scholarships is March 19th, 2014

Other Funding Sources • Gilman Scholarship • Pell Grant-eligible students studying abroad • Average award $4000 • Critical Language Scholarship • Fully-funded summer language institutes. • Participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers.
