Beginning July 1, 2009 the Custodial Services Department is changing the level of office cleaning services provided within all university buildings. As a result, all offices and all conference rooms managed by individual departments will be cleaned one time per week. (See reverse side for your scheduled day.) Custodial Services will not empty your individual trash can or recycling box. You will be responsible for taking your own trash, and your own recycling (paper, bottles, cans, etc.) from your office to the central collection containers in your building. We are offering you this “mini” trash can which you may find is all you really need to use at your desk. It is easy to empty and keep clean on a regular basis. It will help remind you to reduce your waste and recycle more, which are important goals for UVM to be an environmentally sustainable campus. This service change requires participation and cooperation by all staff and faculty in the UVM community, and makes each individual personally responsible for the trash they generate at their desk each day. If you continue to use your existing trash can by your desk, please note that Custodial Services will not empty it and will not supply plastic trash bags. If you want to use a plastic bag, you may purchase these through the UVM Bookstore or Office Max catalog. Later this fall, we will collect any trash cans that are no longer needed. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
