  1. Project Directions(java 2) Instructor: Eng. Ebtesam Saleh

Project Statement • You are going to develop a converter between the U.S. and the Metric System of Measurement using java GUI. • Main requirements: • The converter shall allow the user to convert the distance, temperature, weight and volume. • The system shall allow the user to choose the type of measurement(ex: distance) • As the user choose the type of measurement and enter the value the system shall display all the other values in the two systems (as it is appear at the snapshots in the following slides) .

  3. Project Statement • System interfaces: Implement GUI(graphical user interface) that • Contains textboxes, labels, buttons , forms, menus and any other elements you need • Your interface(s) should contain a button to calculate the measurements and another one to reset the fields • Your interface(s) should be set with fixed size, attractive and usable. • You are asked to use Object Oriented Programming for developing the project.

Project structure • Each project team shall be made of three students maximum. • Each project shall have a team leader. • Each team member shall be assigned a task in the project, and shall be knowledgeable to all aspects of the project. • Team leader shall submit the team work every week . • You shall present your project on the submission day. • You shall submit that contains (Project source code+ Project report + Presentation file) on my email (eng.ebtesam.saleh@gmail.com)

  11. Important dates • Project submission due date : 8 May 2011 at 12:oo pm • Project Discussion : 10 May 2011 at the lab lecture.

  12. Grades Policy • The project total grades are 10 and they are all depend on your project source code equality. • You will lose your grades in case : • you didn’t submit the documentation and power point files • you didn’t attend in the project discussion day • You didn’t discuss your project.
