  4. Eliminating Membership Roadblocks • No time to visit two different meetings • Meetings emphasize planning and not doing • Creating a social requirement before joining can be off-putting

  5. Rethinking the Membership Sign-Up Process The Old Way The New Way • Speak with a Lion • Note meeting dates/time • Attend meeting #1. • Wait 2 weeks + • Attend meeting #2. • Be sworn in, get vest. • Write check. • Volunteer. Speak with a Lion Write check and give contact info. Volunteer.

  7. Turn Our Focus to SERVICE Projects!

  8. Link Lions to the Outside World Via the Internet • Members can stay connected online • Members can share their experiences with friends and neighbors • Fixes time crunch issues of young working professionals • Costs little/no money to clubs! • Requires only a few dedicated Lions to maintain.

  9. Let’s Rethink How We Run Meetings To keep our new network of volunteers organized, we’ll need Board Meetings that coordinate our community efforts and go to work prepping our club for its busy service projects.

  10. FAQs Will new members come to meetings? What if new members want to come to meetings before they join? What will we do to swear them in as members? How will they get their vests?

  11. FAQs What about camaraderie? What if we never meet these new members?

  12. FAQs What does the District or International think about this? What are the bottom-line benefits?
