  3. What is PP? • planning to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives

Challenges of PP • Primary challenge: • achieve all of the project goals and objectives while honoring the preconceived project constraints • Secondary challenge: • to optimize the allocation and integration of inputs necessary to meet pre-defined objectives http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_management

  5. PP in End-User Training • Quality: What kind of a training do we want to deliver? • Cost: What do we need to do to achieve the Q of training we want? • Delivery: When is the end-user training scheduled?

  6. Who? • Primarily, a Project Leader does project planning. • Coordination with project team members • Consultation with project sponsors/customers

  7. Project Team Membership • A team is composed of members who contribute to the outcome of the project. • What is each member’s role?

  8. Creating a Project Schedule Recommendation: Use a Gantt chart. Milestone Task Duration Task Dependency

  9. Sample Project Schedule What can you determine from the schedule? How can you improve this project schedule?

  10. How to Start on Gantt • Determine outputs/deliverables. • Identify dependencies • “To complete this, we need to …” • Budget time to carry out tasks. • Graph.
