  4. Funding to schools • funding received from TDA • need to have partnership agreement signed and returned to SHU • first tranche ( £516) for phase 1 being transferred now • ref : protocols for expenditure • ref: Guide for bursars • TDA audit expectations

NQTs and Coach capacity for 2010-2011 • MTL participants joining your school • further training I Autumn 2010 for: • new coach requirements • new schools joining as MTL teachers move to them • plus further training in Spring 2011 for: • the above plus NQT cohort 2 - April 2011 start • TLR coaches

  11. Coach accreditation: • provided through SHU • optional & free – TDA funding the £550 fee • based on learning from the role over a year • 60 M level credits • start in the Autumn of 2010

MTL TLRs for Autumn 2010 • “Hod’s” = TLRs 1 or 2 • in NC eligible schools –“new” in post from Sept 1st 09 up to and including Sept 2010 • includes restructuring, academy or trust statues changes • TLR “responsible” for a curriculum area - includes G&T, inclusion • temporary post holders are eligible MTL update - Sean Cavan , SHU

TLRs cont.. • academies without “TLR” can check off against the TLR criteria as part of eligibility confirmation • AST, Leadership Spine, Excellent teachers – if not on LR then not eligible • restructuring or move to academy status counts as “new in post” • developing TLR details & Coach model MTL update - Sean Cavan , SHU

  14. TLRs starting: • target date 6th November for launch • TLR’s modules 1 term later than for NQTs • e.g. Phase 2 starts for TLRs April 2011 • peer coaching as main model • integrating coach training into the MTL content for TLRs MTL update - Sean Cavan , SHU

  15. TLRs - delivery and focus: • one term after NQTs • addressing issues for TLRs inc whole school issues • additional potential for school development plan to influence foci

  16. PPD changes • Funding down, impact on fees • PPD eligibility change • if NQT eligible for MTL then no longer eligible for PPD • If TLR eligible for MTL and not started PPD by Sept 1st 2010 then not eligible for PPD MTL update - Sean Cavan , SHU
