MyPrevention Overview • MyPrevention is a national network of prevention professionals, organizations, agencies and community coalitions who collaborate on projects, share resource and utilize “social networking” tools to build organizational capacity. • Currently there are over 2000 registered members (and growing) represented in every state and over 10 countries. Professional fields include: Behavioral Health, Public Health, Education, Child Welfare and Law Enforcement. • MyPrevention is developed and managed by EMT Associates as a public service to the prevention field. • There is no-cost to register. No advertisements or spamming

  3. IPV/SV Prevention Community Site • The community site page is your initial gateway to IPV/SV resources and groups located at MyPrevention. The site has its own web address, www.IPVSVprevention.org and is assessable by the public. • The site includes buttons to access the private IPV/SV work groups; links for member assistance to the site; and a quick link to MyPrevention member registration. • The site can be customized to include additional links to publicly assessable resources, links to secure designated web pages or a central announcement blog.

IPV/SV Groups at MyPrevention • You must be register at MyPrevention to obtain access to any group within the community. • In addition, most IPV/SV groups require members to request access to enter a specific group. This access is provided by the designated Group Administrator (i.e. Moderator). • Each Group Administrator has the capability to create and manage many aspects of their group. Group Administrators can also determine the level of security or privacy members are subject to within the each group. • Groups operate within their own silos, and can not share content between members unless the members are approved to be in the group where the source content is hosted.

  15. Additional Points • MyPrevention is designed to be an aggregator of people, resources and activities within the prevention field. The site is provided as a tool for individuals and organizations utilize at no-cost. Members are expected contribute to the overall knowledge of the site and to help other members who seek assistance. • There must be a Group Administrator to moderate group sites.
