  3. Job & Function Vitamins provide in principle for the functioning of the metabolism. Their job is to regulate the utilization of carbohydrates, proteins and minerals. They provide for their decomposition and reconstruction, and thus also serve to produce energy. Vitamins boost the immune system and are essential for the establishment of cells, blood cells, bones and teeth.
