  4. Background April 4 - 7 Principals and Directors met to draft proposal of a new school schedule. Teacher contract ratified and valid through August 14, 2015 May - July Principals and Teachers develop the daily schedule and create the intervention/enrichment program April 15, 2010 Board asked for a Referendum from Voters August 2011 April 2011 January 2011 November 2, 2010 Referendum passed by voters. Following this a budget committee was formed to recommend expenditures of this money. April 14, 2011 Dr. Hyland (interim superintendant) approves new school schedule. July 1, 2011 Dr. Judith DeMuth assumes role of Superintendent for MCCSC. Contract valid for 4 years. 3

  7. Student Focus Groups • Purpose: discuss opinions about longer school day • Participants: • Bloomington High School North (8 students) • Bloomington High School South (24 students) • Benefits: • Get extra help from teachers • Possible changes: • Have options to go to different sections 6

Enrichment/Intervention Time • LakeviewElementary School • Games to learn multiplication skills • Goals and progress visually measured • High- and Low-performance students in separate groups • Bloomington High School South • Freedom in scheduling intervention/enrichment • Designed based on students preferences 7

  9. Faculty Observations • PLC meetings at: • Binford (4th and 5th Grades) • Rogers (K-2) • BHSN (English and Math) • BHSS (English and Math) • Survey • Response Rate > 90% 8
