  3. What is a Hurricane? A hurricane is one form of the three forms of tropical storms. Hurricanes come in five different categories: Category 1 is the weakest, and on and on, until category five, the strongest. The speeds range from 75 to greater than 155 mph.

  4. Hurricane Katrina Hurricane Katrina was a very deadly storm. It has ranked sixth most deadly hurricane recorded of the Atlantic storms. It reached winds up to 175 mph. At least 1,836 casualties were confirmed. This hurricane was a category 5 hurricane, the strongest category of hurricanes. It wiped out New Orleans, Louisiana. This is a picture of the storm.   5. Swatow Typhoon/Nargis Cyclone Swatow Typhoon The typhoon was first spotted on July 27, 1992 around the Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The water levels as the storm hit were about 12 feet. The winds were blowing at 100 mph. On July 31 it reached the South Chinas Sea, moving over northern Luzon. The death toll was around 60,000 people. Nargis Cyclone On May 2, 2008, the worst natural disaster struck Bruma. On April 28th, meteorologists classified the storm as a hurricane. During that time Nargis had came to a stand still. The cyclone began to head north. Meteorologists has determined that it would affect India or Bangladesh. It hit Bruma and killed nearly 78,00 people.

  6. Hurricane Andrew Hurricane Andrew was a hurricane that affected many places including the Bahamas, South Florida, and Louisiana. The storm formed on August 16, 1992 and ended on August 28, 1992. The top winds reached175 mph. It caused 26.5 billion dollars in damage (USD). It has achieved the 3rd most powerful storm that has reached landfall on the U.S. This was also category 5 hurricane.

  8. More cool facts They are storms that blow over from Africa. Hurricanes forms over the Caribbean. The CORIOLIS EFFECT make the hurricane spin. Hurricanes spin clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere and counter clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere
