  3. Challenges • Reach local communities and trainers • Geography (Snow, Floods, Rock Falls, etc.) • Security • Cost • Low or Under Qualified local trainers • No Electricity • No Internet • No Computer • High Time and Cost (Transport and Accommodations)

Solution M-Education • Mobile-Based Messaging System (Frontline SMS) • SMS (simple plain text) • Questions from Local Community Trainers • AKF Notification to the Local Community Trainers • MMS (Multimedia i.e. PDF, Audio, Video, etc.) • Sending instruction in PDF, Audio and Video formats. • Calling using special price packages (1 AF/min) • Save Cost and Time

Pilot Project • Pilot for 40 teachers in two provinces (Badakhshan, Parwan) • Actions Required • Negotiation with Telecommunication Companies • Roshan • Estimate Cost (equipment, subscriptions, training) • Installation and configuration of software • Buying the mobiles (smart phones) • Training the community teachers
