  1. Chickadee Voting Day At Hall School in Portland, students in grades K – 5 vote for the Chickadee and MSBA awards in the library.

  2. Fourth graders handle all the election day jobs including making the banner for the library.

  3. Morning announcements remind students how to vote and also announce the winning books for the school and the state.

  4. The library becomes our polling station. Students will check in by their last name.

  5. Students check in at the tables and receive a ballot.

  6. Voting stations are private – unless a student needs help from one of the fourth grade voting assistants.

  7. All students drop their ballots in the box to be counted and receive a bookmark to show they have voted.
