    3. Intensive Insulin Therapy (IIT) Intensive diabetes management includes insulin therapy. IIT involves taking 3 or more insulin injections a day (often called MDI-multiple daily injections) or using an insulin pump. This regimen allows for a more flexible lifestyle than the conventional 2 shot a day regimen Intensive insulin therapy also requires more frequent daily blood glucose monitoring.

    4.
