  3. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 Silent Focus Read/Listen: The Raven  by Edgar Allan Poe, and redone by a Simpsons Episode Write: As Lisa says, Poe is good at establishing mood. What mood does he establish, and how does he do it. What is the poem about? Try writing just the beginning of a scary story or poem where you establish mood by writing about the setting.
