  1. Annual Report 09-10

  2. SAHRDAYA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING &TECHNOLOGY Started functioning on 23rd September 2002. Already four batches of students have completed their Course. The fifth batch of students will be completing the Course on 7th May 2010.

  3. The College Day was celebrated on 28th March 2009. Hon’ble Justice P.N.Ravindran High Court of Kerala was the Chief Guest College Day

  4. Academic Activities

  5. The Academic Year 2009 – 10 was inaugurated by Fr. Dr. Paul Achandy, Director, Amala Medical College Hospital, Thrissur on 9th June 2009

  6. The Seventh and Fifth semester classes started on 9th June • Third semester on 23rd July 2009. • All the semesters were terminated on 3rd December. • The forth, sixth and eighth semester classes started on 7th December and is continuing.

  7. Admission After two weeks of orientation, the regular classes of 2009 admission was inaugurated by Msgr. Dr. Vincent Alappatt on 7th September 2009

  8. Director Prof. K.T. Joseph and Principal Dr. Sudha George Valavi took the charge on January 1st 2010

  10. Fourth Batch ( 2005 admission ) Eighth Semester Result • Out of 245 students appeared 180 students have passed all subjects • 19 Students completed their Course with Distinction • 158 Students with First Class • 3 Students with Second Class

  25. Placement & Training

  26. The HRD Department is giving regular Training to the students from I & II semester onwards in Personality Development, Ethics and Morals, Health Science and Placement Training

  27. Students are given Training to improve their Communication skills, Group Discussion, Aptitude test , Problem Solving Skills, Interview Techniques and Resume Preparation

  28. Infosys selected 12 students from 2010 pass outStudents of 2010 pass out were selected by Wipro InfoTech and by Poornam Solutions.Many Biomedical companies recruited our 2009 pass out Biomedical students.

  29. Conducted the Bridge Course for the I st years for one week, inviting trainers like Rev.Dr. Joy Nellissery, Mr. George Joseph, Dr. SijuThottapilly and many more. The programs were on Personality Development, Tips for Effective Communication, Ragging, Self Motivation, Dreams and Goals, Ice breaking sessions and Group Activities.

  30. We started the Technical and the Soft skills program of the Infosys Campus Connect Program on December 7th, 2009. Total of 72 students have registered for the Technical Program from the 2007 batch students and 115 students have registered for the Soft skills program from the 2008 batch students. Technical Programs are conducted by the Faculties of Computer Science Department and Soft Skills is conducted by our trainers and also external trainers. These programs will be conducted during 4 to 5 pm from Monday to Thursday and also on Saturdays.

  31. Placement Activities

  32. The total placements as on March 2009 is as follows.......

  33. Participated and won prizes in competitions conducted by Infosys as part of Aspirations 20-20 Five students reached the state finals of Tycoons 2010 conducted by career launcher. Students attended the camp “Altius” conducted by Malayalee association on 31st October 2009.

  34. Faculty and Staff

  35. We are proud of our Faculty and staff, their dedication and Commitment. We have 67 Faculty Members on our rolls and 7 faculties on study leave and 5 on long leave.

  36. The Faculties Ms.Asha,Ms.Remya,Ms.Reshma and Ms.Honey Mol who were on study leave rejoined the college after successful completion of their M-Tech Degree I am very happy to say that Ms.Asha HOD of Bio Medical Engineering Secured 2nd Rank in the M-Tech Examination conducted by Anna University

  37. We have 11 Office Staff and 22 Supporting Staff at present on rolls.

  38. 41 Faculty Members attended STTP, workshops and seminars at various institutions during the report period 8 members of our faculty published /presented papers in journals and conferences. Four In house faculty training program were conducted for teaching staff during report period. Training was also organized for the Office Staff and Supporting Staff. Regular staff meetings were conducted on Saturdays to review the progress of academic activities and seven Technical Paper Presentations were conducted by the Staff Council.

  39. On 18th February the 3 day workshop for teachers on wireless computing & Mobile Adhoc Net Works inaugurated by Prof. C.P. Sunilkumar Secretary of ISTE Kerala

  40. A one day picnic to Bhoothathankettu and Malayattoor was conducted for the whole staff of Sahrdaya on 31st August 2009.

  41. Technical Associations The Technical Associations in all the four departments organized a number of Programs to promote the technical and organizational skills of the students.

  42. The following students were selected as the Secretary and Joint Secretary of various Technical Associations for the year 2009-10

  47. A number of invited talks and Symposiums were conducted by the Technical Associations. The following are some of the major Programs organized.

  48. EBSA Medcon ‘ 09 a three day National Seminar on “ Perceptions in Biomedical Engineering & Health Care” was organized on 5th to 7th November 2009.

  49. EBSA A Seminar on “Foot pressure measurement of gait analysis”by Mr. Jacob Thomas, Principal, IHRD Engineering College, Kallooppara was conducted on 10th December 2009.

  50. Mr. Luke Tom, 2006 pass out alumni shared his experience of working as Biomedical Engineer in Electro Medical Group Australia on 8th October 2009 A seminar on “Future trends in Bioinformatics and Biomedical Imaging” was conducted on 10th July 2009 by Sai Bioscience Coimbatore EBSA A seminar and demonstration on “Signal Processing in Biomedical Application with respect to ECG” was arranged on 22nd August 2009 by Innmad Systems Kochi
