  2. MYP Unit Question: How does land change? Area of Interaction: Environment Learner Profile: Thinker Standard: Investigate the scientific process of how the Earth's surface is made. Learning Target: Today I’m learning about Alfred Wegner because I want to learn how the fossil evidence proved his theory was correct.

Opening: Can you put the puzzle pieces • together to form the • supercontinent Pangaea? • The puzzle pieces are in the baggie on your table. • Work with your table partner – you have 5 minutes. • Please make sure you put all the pieces back in the baggie.   5. 250 million years ago, all of the continents were combined into one super-continent called “Pangaea” Wegner’s Theory

  6. The continents gradually drifted apart to where they are today.

  7. Evidence of Continental Drift Geographical fit of continents - especially Africa and South America.
