  2. WHAT ARE RULES? ■ Rules are a set of directions to guide people's behavior. WHAY ARE RULES GOOD FOR? • To keep places safe for everybody. • To make things fair. • To help feel good about themselves and others.

  3. WHAT KINDS OF RULES THERE ARE? • Ethics are moral principles or natural laws that together dictate what is right or wrong in a person's conscience and conduct in society. • Laws are the rules of the land. Everybody in the land is supposed to follow these rules.

  4. WHAT KINDS OF RULES THERE ARE? Cont... • Manners are social graces. People make themselves pleasant by observing good manners especially when talking to others, when eating a meal, when behaving in public places. • Rules tell us how to behave. Most human activities are regulated by rules. The games of football, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, and even the games at recess in school have rules.

  6. WHY CLASSROOM RULES? • Why do we need classroom rules? • Do you know your classroom rules? What are those rules? • Who needs to follow the classroom rules? • What would happen if you didn't have rules in your classroom?

  7. WHY SCHOOL RULES? • Why do we need school rules? • Do you know where could you find your school rules? • Have you read those rules with your parents? • Who needs to follow the school rules? WHY CLASSROOM RULES? • What would happen if we didn't have rules in our school?

  8. ABOUT THE SCHOOL RULES The reasons for the school rules are: • Each person must treat others the way he/she would like to be treated. • Each person should exhibit self-control. • The school needs to be a safe place for everyone.

WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL RULES? • Rule #1: Your actions must maintain a safe environment for yourself and others. • Rule #2: Your words must be appropriate. • Rule #3: Behave in a manner appropriate for being in public. • Rule #4: Behave in a way that allows the lesson to progress smoothly. • Rule #5: Work to get along well with adults and other students. • Rule #6: Show respect for your property, the property of other students, and school property.

  16. PLAYGROUND RULES • Stay in the designated areas, with your grade. • No chasing or grabbing anyone. • Play only touch football. Do not play rough. • Swing by sitting in the swings. Do not bail out of the swings. • No fighting of any kind in the palyground. • No throwing rocks. ABOVE ALL, SHARE AND TALE TURNS!!

  17. CONSEQUENCES • Loss of Privilege • Loss of Recess • Time-Out • Writing the Rules • PASS (In-school suspension) • Corporal Punishment • Suspension (Out-0f-School) Consequences will be kept in your permanent discipline records.
