  2. Phone message • There are two ways to produce a phone msg. • One – this method allows free text typing and easy implementation. We will in general use this method. • Two – create a note just like usual except select FAMPRAC TEL for note type. • This is a more cumbersome way to do it. • I will focus this presentation on #1

  3. First method - Preferable and easier Start by selecting “Clinical Notes” on the pull down menu.

  4. Next, click on the new note link.

  5. Now, select FAMPRAC TEL and type in a Subject heading (Med Refill, etc…) “Med Refill” or whatever you’d like to title your message

  6. Type in your note using a SOAP format and select “Sign”

  7. First Method Using the first method, your telephone message will appear in the “Phone Message” folder in the “Phone Msg” subfolder Go figure why they have both  Another idea from the Department of Redundancy Department.

  8. First methodYou’re done.

  9. Second method - too much typing Start out like you are entering a regular note except select FAMPRAC TEL. Hit “OK” and proceed as usual.

  10. Fill in data like a lab letter. Blocked for patient confidentiality

  11. Using the second method, your telephone message will appear in the Family Practice folder under FAMPRAC TEL - the folder with family practice telephone messages.
