  6. This is the outside book return. This is where I return things that belong to the library when I am finished with them.

  7. These side doors go into a hallway that leads to the library. This hallway has restrooms, a coffee shop, and two big rooms for meetings.

  8. These are the doors into the library. The library is a quiet place where everyone is welcome. When I am in the library, I need to talk quietly or whisper and not run.

  9. This is the main floor of the library. There are books, magazines, newspapers, movies, and music on this floor. The Audio/Visual section has the movies, music, and audio books.

  10. This is the librarian at the CIRCULATION desk. The librarian at the CIRCULATION desk can check out books, answer questions, and help me.

  11. This is the Information or Reference desk. This is where I go when I have a question or need help finding a book or video.

  12. The Information desk When you have a question, wait until no one else is talking to the Information librarian. Walk up to the desk, say if you want a book, video or something else. The librarian will tell you what to do or can help you use the search computer catalog.

  13. There are many books and videos in the library I can look at or check out to take home. When I check out a book or video, I have to bring them back by a certain date because other people want to read them.

  14. This is a Self Check out computer. I can choose to check out books by myself or I can go to the Circulation desk.

  15. These are computers that have the Catalog. I use them to search for a book, movie, or DVD. I can search by title or author or subject or I can put keywords in the search box.

  16. This is what the computer catalog search screen looks like this. The computer catalog shows what the book is about, whether it is available or checked out, and where I can find it in the library.

  17. At home, I can search the library catalog on-line at www.bozemanlibrary.org • This is the Bozeman library’s home page.

  18. This is the TEEN CORNER on the main floor. This section has books, computers, tables, and chairs for teenagers, ages 13-19. There is also a separate TEEN STUDY ROOM.

  19. The TEEN CORNER • The Teen Corner has bean bag chairs, tables, and games like Yahtzee and Checkers.

  20. This is a return cart for books I looked at but don’t want to borrow. If you took a book or video off the shelf and don’t want to take it home, put it on this cart.

  21. Upstairs there are more books, computers, and study rooms. (pic of stairs with sign) Reference Nonfiction Computer Rooms Montana Room Study Rooms Administration

  22. This is the Children’s Room. • (pic of entryway) • Sometimes, a kid in the Children’s Room may not whisper or a baby may cry. A grown-up will tell them if that is not OK, I don’t need to tell them.

  23. These computers are for students to do homework or play games. If I want to use a computer I can ask the Children’s Librarian to help me.

  24. This is the Children’s Librarian’s Desk This is where I go to ask the librarian a question if I need help.

  25. These tables can be used for reading, playing with puzzles, drawing or coloring. I can play with puzzles while I’m at the library.

  26. Library materials are for everyone. I need to treat library materials with care and not tear pages. CDs and DVDs should be handled gently.

  27. Here is a couch and some comfortable chairs for reading. This is where I can sit down and look at books.

  28. There are two study rooms. If I need some quiet time, I can use one of these rooms.

  29. There are two restrooms and a drinking fountain by the study rooms.

  30. There is so much to explore in the Children’s Library. • Books • Computers • Magazines • Audio books • Movies • Comic books • Toys, puzzles, games • Chess board • There are also fun activities scheduled at the library. I can check the website or ask the librarian about them.

  31. After I chose my books or videos, I go to the Self Check out computer. When I am ready to leave the library, this is where I go to check out my books. The pictures on this Self Check computer tells me what to do.

  32. I use a library card to check out books. I need to bring it with me when I go to the library. The card lets me check out books, movies. And DVDs.

  33. Checking out books is easy. I scan my library card first. Then I can follow the pictures and directions on the screen to scan the books. I can ask for help with this.

  34. Library materials have a due date. When checking out books or videos, I select PRINT on the computer to get a receipt with the date the materials are to be returned to the library.

  35. Books and videos have a sensor that sets off an alarm if they are not checked-out. • If the alarm goes off when I am leaving the library, I must go back in and ask a librarian for help.

  36. My Bozeman Public Library has so much to offer. Books and Movies Book Groups Computer Classes LEGO Club Wii Wednesday R.E.A.D. to a Dog Live Music & Art Shows Special Events and much, much more! www.bozemanlibrary.org/news/calendar/
