  1. Comm Arts Day 4-- Bell Ringer The passage below has no conjunctions. Your job: add all of the conjunctions correctly. Rewrite the entire passage in your bell ringer section with the conjunctions. You have two minutes. Good luck! The first few times we crossed one, the dogs hesitated, especially on the higher ones, I took it easy the older dogs figured it out passed confidence the team it worked all right. We had by this time run the trestles many times, knew where each one was, the dogs whizzed across when we came to them.

  2. Finishing Letters (20 mins) • Please wrap up your peer editing. Make sure you have three glows and grows and address your partners focus areas. You need to edit and save your letter to google docs or edmodo if you did it in Microsoft Word. • If you are done please use this time to write a letter in response to Alexandra in Sparta, NJ. We only have one letter to send to her!! I will be sending them on Friday. • Any questions?

  5. The Unknown Hero (p.115) • Today we are going to read about one man who faced his enemy head on, literally. • While we read I want you to type in the edmodo assignment entitled “Hero?: The Unknown Hero” one word from our list that you think best describes him and why.

  7. Discussion Time • Why is he in our hero book? Do these character traits make him really a hero? (2 mins) • What might those who oppose him think? Why? (2 mins)

  9. Homework • Research online, in the news, magazines, etc. and find an example of a protest. Write a one paragraph reflection on whether you agree or disagree with this protest. Say why and give FACTS as your details.
