  3. Nickname • New Mexico’s nickname is “Land of Enchantment” it is this, because of its natural beauty and rich history.

  5. State flower • The state flower of New Mexico is the Yucca flower. It symbolizes sturdiness as well as beauty.

  6. New Mexico’s bird • This state’s bird is called the roadrunner. It was designated the state bird in 1949.
