Who can have an impact on climate change at a local scale? • Schools: e.g. Live simply campaign to encourage the students to consider the choices they make e.g. notices to switch off lights and solar panels • Local councils: UK’s target is to cut emissions by 15% below 1990 levels and by 20% by 2020- local councils may build sustainable houses or give away energy saving light bulbs • Local interest groups: e.g ‘Manchester is my planet’.
