  10. Solar panels and FMM

  11. Solar panels and FMM The Facts behind Solar Panels. • Father Michael McGivney High School uses almost half the energy of the other facility in the York Region Roman Catholic Separate School Board, and pays $10,000 a year less in annual energy costs.

  12. Solar panels and FMM • On a yearly average, McGivney consumes the equivalent of 19.6 kWh of energy per square foot of space ... compared to 24.2 kWh at Holy Cross. The average energy consumption throughout the entire York Region RCSSB is 29 kWh/ft²/year.

  13. Solar panels and FMM • The earth energy units are located in the ceiling space above the classrooms, which allowed the School Board to shave 600 m² from the space for the school's mechanical room, thereby maximizing the grants from the provincial Ministry of Education.  • Architect                         Stafford Haensli • Engineer                         Mancini Saldenloop • Contractor             Ground Heat Geothermal

  14. Solar panels and FMM • The energy consumption of the school can be monitored on Earth Days and other days in which environmental initiatives are taken within our school community to see the difference our efforts make within seconds.

  15. Solar panels and FMM • Members of Eco will be broadcasting information about our solar panels by the end of October through posters, announcements, and The TV • Contact Your Nearest ECO member if you have and Questions! Keep It Green! =)
