  2. What is an Erasmus Mundus Action 1 joint programme? A joint masters or doctorate … developed and delivered by a consortium of higher education institutions (HEIs)… locatedin at least 3 European countries , one of which being a EU Member State and… co-ordinated by a European HEI (Non European HEIs can be full/associated partner institutions)

  3. An EM Master Course (EMMC)/EM Joint Doctorate (EMJD) must: • Be fully developed at the time of the application • be an integrated programme in all its aspects • be a programme of excellence • award a fully recognised degree • include a mandatory mobility component in at least 2 European countries represented in the consortium

  4. An EMMC/EMJD must: • Without prejudice to the teaching/training language, provide for the use of at least two European languages spoken in the countries where the study/research is carried out. • Provide insurance coverage to enrolled students / doctoral candidates • Support third-country candidates in obtaining their visas and residence permits

  5. Financial and contractual modalities • Framework partnership agreement covering 5 editions • Financial support for: • the management of the joint programme i.e. € 30 000 max (EMMC); € 50,000 max (EMJD) • a fixed number of individual scholarships / fellowships • Types of scholarships / fellowships • Category A: non-Europeans • Category B: The students not falling under Category A including Europeans • Scholarships for scholars (EMMC)

Example of a running EMMC MULTIELE: Master in Learning and Teaching Spanish in Multilingual and International Context University of Deusto (coordinating institution) Partner universities in ES,DE,NL,IS,SE,JP,IN,BR, US, RU • 1st & 2nd semesters in ES • 3rd and 4th semesters in DE/NL/IS/SE • (European students possibility • 3rd semester in JP/IN/BR/US/RU)
