What does NRHH do? • Some of the activities that Drake’s NRHH chapter members take part in during the year include: • Voting on all OTMs • Submitting our Campus Winners for regional and/or national recognition • Residence Life Banquet • Various community service events I love OTMS way more than validation programs!

  4. The National Level • Recognize outstanding Res. Life leaders and programs by: • Inducting Members • Selecting national winners and honorable mentions in each OTM category • Increases leadership within the Res. Life community at its affiliated schools by encouraging: • Resource sharing between schools • Conference attendance at regional and national conferences • Campus programming within the areas of recognition, community service, leadership and scholastics • Acknowledgement and recognition of those persons, organizations and programs that make a difference on each campus

  5. OTMS! • Recognition • An individual or organization can be nominated for an OTM under 7 categories: • Advisor • Community • Executive Board Member • Organization • Resident Assistant • Spotlight • Student • Staff/Faculty • Campus programs can be nominated for a OTM under 4 categories: • Community Service Program • Diversity Program • Educational Program • Social Program • Passive Program

  7. Tips for Writing • Include how the nominee went above and beyond throughout the month of nomination • Paint a clear picture of the event, individual, or group of individuals in which you are writing about. • Obtain background information on the event or individuals in which you are writing about. • A couple of quotes or general statements from attendees gives an OTM a little extra pizzazz • Presentation is key! • Proofread the OTM • Look out for bad grammar and spelling errors. • Submit correct information on the form. • Make sure your OTM is month-specific. • Only mention information about the specific month • Use dates in your descriptions • Be specific and includes details. • Try to max out the OTM word count • But remember, quality over quantity • Define acronyms; they are not always universal! • The only acronyms you should use are NRHH, NACURH, RHA, and our region name MACURH
