  7. What is MCA? And NCLB? And AYP? • Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments • Test given to students in grades 3rd - 11th grade • Provides us with Edina’s State Report Card • NCLB stands for No Child Left Behind • AYP stands for Adequate Yearly Progress • If students don’t do well on the MCA, Edina doesn’t meet AYP and we have to deal with NCLB! EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

  8. What is NWEA? And MAP? And RIT? • NorthWest Evaluation Association • Company that administers our MAP tests • What does MAP stand for? • Measures of Academic Progress: a test given once or twice a year in grades 2-6 • The MAP test gives each student a RIT score. RIT stands for Rasch Unit. The RIT score shows the instructional level at which the student is currently performing. EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

  9. What is RTI? • Response To Intervention • A method of academic intervention designed to provide early, effective assistance to children who are having difficulty learning • 3 Tiers of Service for all students EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

  10. What is a ATTPS? And an IC? • Alternative Teacher Performance Pay System • New for the 2008-2009 School Year • IC’s are Instructional Coaches that will work with you on a personal and school goal • Replaces what Edina teachers had to do: a PGT: Professional Goal Target EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

  12. What is PLP? • Personal Learning Plan • One of the district initiatives is to have personalized learning • Not an IEP for each child EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

What does TIES stand for? • Technology Information Education Services • TIES is our Student Information Management System • Manage our testing Data • Provide Technology Training during the school year and summer • Host our Online Report Card and Elementary Electronic Grade Book EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

  14. I-Cue not I.Q. • I-Cue is our Data Management System • Teachers enter Reading and Math assessments into I-Cue • MAP & MCA scores are loaded into I-Cue • Teachers take Attendance on I-Cue • Report Card is Housed in I-Cue • Elementary Electronic Grade Book is in I-Cue EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

  16. What is WMEP? • West Metro Education Program • Consortium of 10 urban and suburban school districts in the Minneapolis metropolitan area • Formed in 1989 to cooperatively address integration issues in the West Metro area • Open Enrollment • Choice is Yours EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS
