  2. About the Teacher • Sun Valley Alum • Elizabethtown College Alum • B.S. in Chemistry • Worked as a Process Development Chemist for Lonza Inc. in Conshohocken for 1 ½ years • Widener University Alum • M.Ed. Secondary Education • Sun Valley Chemistry Teacher • 2003-present

About the course • Class time consists of lecture, class discussion, textbook guided reading, guided examples by the teacher, practice worksheets. • Powerpoint presentations can be made available to the students upon request. • Labs are college prep level • Labs will also involve using the VerneirLabQuests with probeware along with the Logger Pro data analysis programs

About the course • Students should expect to dedicate a minimum of 20 minutes daily on studying, practice and or assignments in order to achieve success in this course • Chemistry is required to graduate from SV • Chemistry is not offered in summer school • Students control their success in the course!!!

  5. Grading • Tests and Quizzes • 50% of total course grade • If absent on a test day, student will be responsible for taking the test the day they return to school • Labwork • 20% of total course grade • A worksheet with calculations and questions are to be turned in for each lab • Homework / Classwork • 30% of total course grade • Late assignments will be accepted for less points • Late assignments will only be accepted for up to one week after it is assigned*
