  5. For what (or why)? • It’s a habit • It’s an alternative • It’s relational • It’s devotion • It’s educational and developmental • It’s a place to rest • It’s someone else’s decision • It’s a family thing • It’s a need/compulsion • It’s my job

Righteousness • Legal meaning – “right-standing” “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” - 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIVUK) “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!” - Romans 5:17 (NIVUK)

The Challenge • Am I truly hungry and thirsty for this way of life? • What would I give, or even be prepared to give up, to have this kind of hunger and thirst? • In which areas of my life do I need to clean up my act so that I demonstrate righteousness? • How complacent am I being in my relationship with God?

You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God”
