Resident advocates: Program director: front line, more creative solutions part advocate, part evaluator Assistant Dean advocacy role within the faculty, no evaluator role outside potential conflicts of interest within the department FMRQ intimate knowledge of the resident contract 150% advocacy role

Code of conduct • Criticism communicated in a reasonable manner and offered in good faith with the aim of improving teaching, research or patient care and safety • Expressions of concern about a patient’s care and safety • Encouraging clear communication • Use of cooperative approach to problem resolution

  7. Goals of investigating a complaint: • Learner safety • Teacher skills improvement

One45 evaluations of rotations & staff • Staff evaluations • compiled annually, better anonymity • Rotation evaluations • Available in real time to the PD & others • Still unsigned but more traceable • Both: • Use of constructive language • When possible, behaviourally anchor your comments • Be aware that one45 is anonymous/unverified information • If an urgent response is required – use your advocates!!!
